For people with large, traditional boats, getting to the water can be a real hassle. If they don’t have a large enough truck and trailer, they are completely out of luck. Some pay for docking throughout the year, but that cost could buy them a completely new inflatable boat. For people who own an inflatable boat, the water is just a drive away.
At Saturn Boats, we offer easily transportable and supremely durable inflatable boats of all shapes and sizes. How hard is it to transport an inflatable boat to the water? Not hard, not hard at all.
Packing an Inflatable Boat for Transport
If you’re willing to spend a bit of time packing and unpacking your boat, transportation is as easy as a trip to the home improvement store. Even the larger inflatable boats in our inventory fold down to, at the largest, 59″ x 29″ x 14″. Folding up an inflatable boat is this easy:
- Step One: Open all the valves (depress and quarter turn). Use a pump or vacuum to deflate the keel. (remember to close valves and install protector caps)
- Step Two: Remove floor by removing stringers from edges and lift edges 10 inches from the rear seam. (or deflate the air deck floor and replace cap)
- Step Three: Move valves into the down (open) position and begin deflating the front of the boat. Simultaneously, pull up on bow ropes. Then deflate the pontoons of the boot and pull up on ropes again.
- Step Four: Fold pontoons in and lay flat (not wider than transom). Fold cones in.
- Step Five: Roll boat up from transom and fold nose in.
- Step Six: Finish folding, place in carry bag, fasten, and head home!
No need to set up a trailer, winterize a boat, or rent a truck. Just fold up the boat and stick it in your SUV for an easy trip home. Saturn Boats sells convenient, durable, portable inflatable boats to make enjoying the water that much easier.
